From life's lush lips
In
The Holiday, Graham, the character played by Jude Law is a book editor. While out on a date with Amanda (Cameron Diaz), he mentioned that he studied Literature in school, which I took, was college. Well, I just thought that since my course is Lit., I was hoping that it would be possible for someone as hot as Jude Law to be in my class.
Which I highly doubt since FEW guys, make that
hot guys study Lit. in this country. Most of them are either pursuing Engineering courses or showbiz careers.
Well, I guess I'll just hang out a lot in front of the Engineering building.
*wink*

Yo ho, yo ho a pirate's life for me
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is so effin' awesome I enjoyed it a great deal than
Spiderman 3. Ba't kaya uso ngayon sa Hollywood ung meh scene pa after ng credits? Buti na lang I had this strong feeling na meron nga so we waited and un nga, may scene. My five-year old nephew Stephen went with us and he was already complaining
"It's so matagal!" while the credits were rolling. So buti na lang talaga meron. Ay nko. We do it all the time na since
X-Men: The Last Stand. We wait until after the credits.
Kasi naman pauso! Cheverlu!
Anyway, I guess summer's officially over now for me. My swimming days are over. And I've got about two weeks 'til classes start to regain my color. OK. I'll do a recap on the happenings in my uneventful and drab (well, atleast that's what I think it is) life. If I remember correctly, I've read five books this summer,
Men and Cartoons, which took a long time to read because I just don't see the point on all the stories or it's just not for me, book 10 of
A Series of Unfortunate Events, reread
The Order of the Phoenix, then this short book I got from Doulos called
Passover and then
Shopaholic and Baby! It's amazing how I can read the
Shopaholic books in 1-3 days only. I guess it's just so hilarious and exciting that I just couldn't put it down. I reaaly, really envy Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood), even though she's not at all real, although who knows, there can be a handful of Beckys out there. Well, for one, she's got a PERFECT husband. And her stupidity and impulsiveness often leads to something good I mean, how many people can do that huh? Haay, I wish I could end up with someone like Luke Brandon. He is just PERFECT, and he's a stick-to-one kind of guy. He loves Becky so much. Finding a Luke Brandon is like searching for the Yamashita treasure (or something) nowadays. But then, why couldn't I end up with someone like him? All I have to do is find a job that will take me to London (yes, he has to be British too), channel my inner shopaholic (although I don't think it needs channeling anymore) and just be, I don't know...myself? HAHA.
Right.
But anyway, back to the recap. I am reading the first book of the Chronicles of Narnia. I took swimming lessons, met an NFF, and I also met this guy that I really like. I like him like him. Really. There's just so many things I want to write here but it'll take an eternity to read. But he didn't ask for my number, so it really confuses me right now. Honestly, how are you supposed to KNOW what's going on in a boy's mind? I mean, actions speak louder than words, don't they? AArgh.
Whatever.
And then to the recap again, I watched the 1st and the 2nd and the 1st six episodes of the 3rd season of
House, episodes 1-17 of
Heroes, the whole of
Gokusen 2 and countless movies. And then I found my idea of heaven. It's a new bookstore in Galleria called
Bestsellers, it's sooooo HUGE! Love it...it's kinda like the Fully Booked in Rockwell. I so looove bookstores, particularly big ones. :-D
I can't believe I'm going to college now. I'm so nervous. Plus, I'll have to wear a uniform! I hate it. Good thing I found this really lovely pair of suede flat shoes from Charles and Keith that I'll wear to school,
that cheered me up a bit.
Well, join me in praying that he'll text me. I don't know. I just want HIM to text me.
Boys...*sighs*

Oh I know a regular guy. I'm actually crushing on him right now, heehee...
I just watched
Happily Never After. Although it wasn't at all a hit 'cause of its slight crappiness, it made me realize some things. Most girls (including myself, sometimes) dream of fairy-tale endings wherein their perfect prince comes for them in a handsome white horse and takes them away to live with him to his majestic castle where they will live happily ever after. But of course in real life the prince is that heartthrob girls are willing to die for. He comes from a really well-off family, drives a flashy sports car, has a winning smile, is a school jock, treats you to expensive restaurants...in short, he is JUST perfect.
And of course, guys like that tend to be celebrities, so you're not alone in admiring him.
In
Happily Never After, Ella dreams of one day marrying Prince Charming while Rick, the prince's servant, watches her from a distance, hoping that someday, Ella's gonna change her mind about the prince and fall for him instead.
But it turns out, Mr. Prince Charming is a worthless, cowardly wimp who couldn't do things right and who couldn't save Ella from the bad guys. In the end, it was Rick who saved the WHOLE fairytale world from the villains. Well, needless to say, Ella finally realized how bad her taste was and fell in love with Rick, and they lived happily ever after.
I'm gonna go straight to my point now. The movie made me realize that the "Perfect Prince" that we are waiting for can turn out to be not-so-perfect after all. Sure, he's rich, he has a car, he's so cute, he gives you butterflies in your stomach, he's a famous celebrity/basketball player/heir to millions of dollars, but what if he turns out to be a jerk? A player? A heartbreaker? He'll only leave you in the dark, crying over your ruined Cinderella ending.
Sometimes, falling for a regular, boy-next-door kind of guy is better than falling for the seemingly-perfect-but-not-really ones. Because sometimes, that regular guy is really YOUR Prince Charming, even if he doesn't seem like it.
And then maybe, HE can give you that "Happily Ever After" ending you want.

Kundiman
by Silent Sanctuary
Kundiman tayo hanggang dulo wag mong kalimutan
Nandito lang ako laging umaalalay
Hindi ako lalayo...
Kung hindi man tayo hanggang dulo wag mong kalimutan
Nandito lang ako laging umaalalay
Hindi ako lalayo
Dahil ang tanging panalangin
Dahil ang tanging panalangin
Ay ikaw...
